ASCENSION PARISH LOUISIANA NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER - JACE B. PHOTOGRAPHY
Bring me that baby!
I'll take care of the rest! I love newborns. I love their tiny features, their baby smell, their peach fuzz, their wrinkles, their rolls, their cheeks, their soft skin, their eyelashes……I just love them. I want to make sure that we capture the essence of this time which is so fresh and ever changing. They won’t be this little for long, so let me provide you with lasting memories and pieces of art to treasure of your little one. Sit back and relax, while I do all the work. I have everything we will need for the session. Props are all included with custom set designs fit for your preference, which we will discuss when you contact me to book.
Newborn sessions can last anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on the baby. We take lots of breaks in order to feed, change and get love in order to keep baby sleepy and settled. I recommend newborn sessions within the first 2 weeks; however, I am open to photographing them after this time period.
I recommend getting your due date down on my books because space is limited and the calendar fills up fast.
Newborn sessions are scheduled on weekday mornings only!
- When should I schedule my session?
-
If at all possible, I recommend contacting me BEFORE your little one arrives. Once the retainer is paid, then mom's due date is added to the calendar and a tentative session time will be reserved based on that information. I ask that moms keep in touch with me if they receive any updates on possible inductions as the date approaches. I am only able to take a limited number of newborn sessions per week.
- Where do sessions take place?
-
Newborn sessions take place at my little 2nd story studio in Ascension parish. It's where the magic happens.
- Do you provide props?
-
YES! I love to order new wraps, outfits, bonnets, headbands, etc. I'm always looking for vintage props with lots of texture and character. But also source some of the best photography props through quality vendors in the industry. You don’t need to worry about bringing anything. If you have something special you'd like to incorporate, please just let me know and we will absolutely try to work it in to the session!
- When is the best time to photography my newborn?
-
Newborns are best photographed between days 5-14. Babies older than 2 weeks become more alert and can start to develop "milk bumps". This time frame also offers the best opportunity for all those squishy baby poses.
- How long are newborn sessions?
-
A regular newborn session with multiple set ups, an outfit, any non wrapped poses lasts about 3 hours depending on the needs of your child. Plenty of time is allowed for feeding, snuggling, soothing and settling. A content baby makes the most beautiful images.
A fully wrapped/swaddled session is up to 1-hour.
- What should baby wear?
-
During a full newborn session and in my many years of experience, babies don't like to be changed. We may need to start with wrapped/swaddled images first to get baby warm, calm and content. I will then move to diaper covered images and work in an outfit or 2 if time permits.
It really all depends on that sweet baby and I work around what keeps them content. All babies are different, so this is very individualized and custom to your little one.
