Pensacola Beach session with my Senior. Class of 23 (insert tears).

My husband and I decided on a Tuesday night at around 8:30 to book a quick beach trip to Pensacola with the kids in hopes to see the Blue Angels!  We threw our stuff in bags, loaded the car and were out the door and on the road by 5:30 the next morning.   I have never in my life been able to pack that quickly and keep it all together!  Honestly, I think it was the best way for me to do it. No time to think........just do!

The drive in was great.  Made the pit stop at Buccee's and we arrived in Pensacola at around 10:30.  We hit the local Wal-Mart for some sandwich stuff and then headed to the hotel to check it out.  I couldn't believe it, but our room was already available, so we unpacked and were on the beach before noon.  The weather was gorgeous, and the water was beautiful!  I knew I wanted to attempt to get a few shots of my kiddos while we were there because I've always wanted to shoot under a pier, and we were really close to one.  Now getting them to participate was going to be a little tricky.  Throughout my years of photography, people would think that I just took pictures of my kiddos all the time.....however, that was not the case.  And the older they've gotten, the harder it gets.  I knew my best bet was going to be to get this out of the way on day one, so we showered and headed out to dinner.  I talked them to walking down to the pier at sunset.  

I don't know how on earth this happened, but my boy is going to be a senior this year.  I really wanted to start off his senior session montage with some from this trip.  I got every excuse in the book from him on why he didn't want to take these, starting with "I hate the sand!", but I'm so glad I didn't give up.   Not exactly what I had in mind with the outfit and in need of a haircut, but I don't care.  They are perfectly imperfect to me and I'll remember those moment always.
